Motorcycle Glasses is for Safety

Those who do not ride motorcycle will never understand why people like us are very particular with our motorcycle glasses. To answer those people, just one simple answer, for safety reason. Riding at higher than 40 km/hr speed without motorcycle glasses will definitely make motorcyclist eyes uneasy or even exposed to dust irritation. This unwanted condition will be a high safety risks to the motorcyclist himself and the others. This is why, when I am on my bike riding my favourite cruiser bike, motorcycle riding glasses is a must, no matter what.

Despite being seen as the one in total control on the road by other motorist, we are always the most vulnerable party. Regardless whether we his someone one being hit by someone, we will suffer the most. Without a pair of motorcycle glasses, risking our visibility, for me is not worth it. I still regard motorcycle riding goggles as the very best option since it protects our eyes almost perfectly. Unlike the normal motorcycle riding glasses,  goggles does not allow that much air to flow to your eyes, hence provide us a perfect  eye protection, hence for sure will make our riding a much an enjoyable one.

For sunglasses, did you know that in European Union, the standard for UV rating is much lower than what is commonly offered in the US ? EU only specifies 95 % reflection radiation filtration for 380 nm wavelength, while mostly the market is offering 99% filtration for 400nm wavelength and is labelled as UV400. I will never go lower than this. Even though we have this put on, UV400 rated sunglasses is still not good enough to look directly to the sun, even during eclipse, so, please, do not ever try it.

As general conclusion, as soon as we take on our bike, please put on some thing to protect your eye, motorcycle riding goggles, motorcycle sunglasses, whatever, you have a better chance to be safe in riding.

In addition to the safety reason that we discussing here for putting on your motorcycle sunglasses, it also protect your eyes from ultra violet radiation. Some opinions say that effect is temporary, but again not getting ourselves expose to such a risk is already an excellent thing.
